Access ID and Password Information

Access IDs (sometimes labeled User Code), and passwords are used to provide security when accessing Internet banking. Depending on your banks policy, they may either provide you with the ID and password for your initial login; or you may be allowed to enable yourself via the Internet.  In either case, you will be prompted to change your password to one of your own choice immediately after your first login. You may also be required to change you ID after your initial login, depending on your banks policies. In addition, you can change your password at any time. Refer to Change a Password for more information.

If you forget your access ID and password, contact a bank representative. You will be given a new ID and password. This new password will be used on your next login. Following a successful login you will again be prompted to change your password. For information on how the system handles unsuccessful login attempts, review Unsuccessful Log In.

The first login box may be labeled Access ID or User Code, depending on your bank. You may also be required by your bank to use your Social Security Number in this field, in which case it is to be entered as nine digits without spaces or dashes. Refer to Log In for examples of this. If you are allowed to choose your own ID, it must be at least 6 characters of any combination of letters, numbers or special characters. An abbreviated name or nickname that is easy to remember is recommended.

When creating your own password, the following guidelines are recommended. If your bank has specific guidelines of their own, follow your bank's guidelines.
