Fraud Alert: Protect Yourself from Scammers

We have received reports of fraudsters posing as Watertown Savings Bank and attempting to steal customer information.

What scammers are doing:
  • Calling customers and claiming to be from Watertown Savings Bank
  • Sending text messages with links and urging customers to click them
  • Requesting debit card numbers, PINs, and online banking credentials
  • Coaching customers to approve fraudulent transactions by responding to fraud alerts
  • Adding stolen debit card information to mobile wallets and attempting ATM withdrawals
Please remember:
  • Watertown Savings Bank will NEVER ask for your debit card number, PIN, online banking password, or authentication codes.
  • Do not click links sent by unsolicited callers or text messages.
  • Be cautious of caller ID spoofing. Fraudsters may make calls appear to come from a Watertown Savings Bank phone number, including our fax number.
  • Visit the Fraud Prevention Center in our Resources section of the website, to learn more about scams and how to protect yourself.
How to monitor your accounts:
  • Set up push notifications and alerts. In the WSB Mobile Banking app, tap Manage Alerts under Quick Links. Or log into WSB Online Banking through our website and select Alerts from the top menu to choose the notifications that matter most, including Debit Card Alerts.
     

Remember, Watertown Savings Bank will NEVER ask you for your password, PIN, or account number. If you receive a suspicious call, text, or email claiming to be from Watertown Savings Bank, do not provide any information. Contact us directly at 617-928-9000.
