We would like to caution our customers against common scams and fraud schemes. The following have been amongst the top 2020 scams that continue to be prevalent. Please be vigilant. Do not give away your personal and financial information by phone or email to anyone claiming to be a friend or government official.

Imposters
Fraudsters pretending to be government officials asking for personal information and card numbers; pretending to be family members or friends asking for money.
Online Shopping
Sellers failing to deliver online purchases and keeping customer payments.
Phone and Text Messages
Messages luring people to click on links related to Covid-19 relief.
Online Romance
Requests for money under the guise of a romantic relationship. Typically the relationships start on social media platforms.
Phishing and Malware Schemes
Fraudsters sending emails tricking recipients to reveal personal and financial information that can be used to steal their identity.

We have observed an increase in recent scams. We encourage everyone to be careful and vigilant so as to prevent financial loss, burden, heartache, and stress resulting from these fraud schemes.
If your debit card is misplaced, use the WSB Mobile Banking app to temporarily turn your card off and prevent unauthorized purchases. If your card is lost or stolen, act immediately by turning off your card in the app, contacting Customer Support at 800-207-2525 to report the loss and request a replacement, and calling 800-417-8715 to block your card.
Phishing attacks use “spoofed” e-mails, fraudulent websites, and calls designed to fool recipients into divulging personal financial data such as credit card numbers, account usernames and passwords, Social Security numbers, etc.
