General Questions

Q: What exactly is wsb online Internet Banking

A: wsb online Internet Banking is your one-to-one connection with Watertown Savings Bank. With Internet Banking, you can pick and choose the services that best fit your needs. You can sign up for Access only and get convenient access to your account balances, check on account activity or easily transfer money between your checking and savings accounts. And best of all, it's free with unlimited transactions! Sign up for wsb epay and simplify the chore of paying bills-no more stamps or licking envelopes. You tell us who, when, and how much to pay and we'll do the rest.

Q: Sometimes I can access the Internet but not wsb online Internet Banking. Do you have any scheduled system outages

A: Yes. Periodically the system is brought offline for scheduled maintenance. This generally occurs very late in the evening on a weekend night. Please try again later because these offline periods only last a short period of time.

Q: Sometimes when I login to wsb online Internet Banking, my access ID is already listed so that I do not have to type it in. Other times, however, the number does not show up and I do have to type it in. Any idea why

A: There are multiple World Wide Web servers handling customer transactions. Each time you login to wsb online Internet Banking, a different server may handle your transactions. Only the servers you have used before will remember your access ID.

Q: I am moving to another state where there is no Watertown Savings Bank branch. Can I continue to use wsb online Internet Banking

A: Yes. As long as you have a valid account with us, you will be able to use wsb online.

How to Register for wsb online

Q: What if I don't sign up for wsb epay initially and later decide that I want to sign up

A: You can sign up for wsb epay anytime you want. To sign up, you must enroll online using the wsb epay enrollment page.

Q: I share a checking account with someone else. Do we both need to enroll or can we share a wsb online access ID

A: Your access ID is your link to Internet Banking. Services such as wsb epay are specific to the access ID that you are using to access the system. That ID allows you to see all of the accounts tied to your name and address. A joint owner may see a different set of accounts depending on their relationship with the Bank. We suggest that bills are paid using only one access ID in order to simplify reporting and use of the wsb epay system. Otherwise, two separate IDs are perfectly acceptable.

Q: Can I use wsb online Internet Banking from more than one location

A: wsb online Internet Banking can be accessed on the World Wide Web. Go to and click on the Internet Banking button to access your accounts from anywhere that you have a secure Internet connection.

About Hardware and Software Requirements

Q: What software do I need to access wsb online Internet Banking

A: wsb online Internet Banking may be accessed on the World Wide Web by going to We require that you use a browser that supports 128-bit encryption, either Netscape Navigator version 6.0 or later or Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5.

Q: Is wsb online Internet Banking compatible with software that I already use to manage my money

A: Yes. wsb online Internet Banking can export transaction information to the leading financial management software packages available today, including Quicken® and Microsoft® Money.

Q: What is the difference between a 128-bit encryption browser and a 40-bit encryption browser

A: The difference between 40-bit (international) encryption and 128-bit (domestic, or strong) encryption is a matter of degrees. Software using 128-bit encryption is roughly 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times stronger than 40-bit encryption. 40-bit encryption is OK for low-risk transactions, but no longer endorsed by respected cryptographers and computer scientists as adequate for financial transactions. They recommend at least 75-bit encryption. 128-bit encryption should be strong enough to prevent security breaches for more than 20 years.

Please note that since 128-bit encryption is one of the highest forms of data security available today, the U.S. Government restricts its use to citizens and permanent residents of the United States and Canada. Browsers that use 128-bit encryption may only be downloaded to locations in the United States or Canada.

Please be assured that we will go to every measure possible to protect the financial information and resources you have entrusted to us.

You can help safeguard your information and the banking systems by protecting your passcodes. Your passcodes are the only way to get access into your account. Please keep them secure.

Please refer to our security policy for more information regarding the security of this product.
